New Sabrient Small Cap Growth UIT Launched

19th portfolio in the Small Cap Growth Series

Santa Barbara, CA – June 29, 2018: A new Small Cap Growth Portfolio was launched on June 29, 2018. The 19th portfolio in the Small Cap Growth Series, this 50-stock portfolio – with a strategy developed by Sabrient and licensed to First Trust Portfolios. The UIT invests in top-ranked small-cap stocks (at the time of their selection) that represent a cross-section of industries that Sabrient believes are positioned to perform well in the coming 15 months. These are stocks that represent growth at a reasonable price –- GARP stocks -– which are meant to be held for the full 15-month term of the trust.

The strategy includes the Sabrient Earnings Quality Rank (EQR), a proprietary forensic accounting factor that ranks the conservatism of a company’s accounting. Companies with aggressive accounting practices are penalized in the rankings, while companies with overly aggressive accounting practices are eliminated in an effort to avoid companies that could be overstating or even “creating” the reported growth.

The Small Cap Growth Series was originally launched in February 2014. The series, published quarterly, currently contains six open portfolios and 13 closed ones.

The current portfolio, launched on June 29, 2018, will terminate on September 30, 2019. For a prospectus, fact sheet, and performance tracking, please visit the First Trust website at http://www.ftportfolios.com and enter the ticker FMETJX.
