What We Do
Sabrient uses a scientifically-based, quantitative methodology to develop Smart Filters that identify the characteristics of a stock that are most predictive in the prevailingly market. Then we rank all stocks and ETFs according to which ones best reflect those characteristics but are not yet fully rewarded by the market. The stock rankings populate our SmartRank Scorecards and SmartLink Pro reports and form the basis of the Buy/Hold/Sell ratings on our Sabrient Ratings Reports. The ETF rankings populate our ETF scorecard. The Smart Filters are also used to create customized portfolio strategies. The process is a statistical analysis of fundamental data, and the result is an extraordinary suite of tools for investment decisions.
Our proprietary methodology employs multi-factor modeling, filters, and fuzzy-logic scoring to identify stocks that appear poised to outperform or underperform the market. Using a scientific approach, the Sabrient research team selects from more than 400 fundamentals-based factors to create a library of over 100 multi-factor filters, called Smart Filters.
Each filter targets a key area of traditional stock analysis, such as value, growth, earnings quality, and are used to identify the characteristics of a stock that are most predictive in the prevailing market. Each stock is then measured against others in dozens of categories, verified with external sources, and ranked in order of best opportunities for the current market. These become the Sabrient Quantitative Rankings, which form the basis of many of our products.
Customized Smart Filters are used to create investment strategies and index strategies. An adaptive process is used to test filters on a continual basis to ensure that only the best performing filters are at work. These top filters are used to extract stocks that exhibit the desirable attributes, but have not yet been sufficiently rewarded. This adaptive process ensures that we stay abreast of the dynamic market.
Leveraging the latest academic research, our highly qualified and credentialed Gradient analyst team employs a rigorous two-step research process. This process objectively identifies companies with improving or deteriorating earnings quality characteristics before they are fully manifested in stock prices.
