The risk premium for the oil market has increased after the Houthis attacked a tanker carrying Russian oil products in the Red Sea.

USD/JPY stabilizes near 148.33 as Fed considers rate cuts. Focus on Powell's conference and upcoming US economic data. Strong US growth reduces likelihood of early Fed cuts.

I would start to scale and right around the $22.50 level, with a stop loss at the $21.90 level. I would be targeting $23.50 initially, followed by the $24.50 level.

Gold prices are seeing a decent bid across early European trading on Monday. Traders are braced for an important week with the FOCM due on Wednesday.

It is an FOMC week. The meeting is taking place at a time when markets are demanding aggressive cuts this year and the Fed is saying ‘no way’.

Anything below $1,980 would obviously be very negative, especially considering that the 200-day EMA is racing towards that level. 

The BTC/USD pair bounced back from last week’s low of 38,505 to a high of 43,000. It still remains much lower than the year-to-date high of 49,100.

The AUDUSD has been experiencing an ongoing downtrend, with the potential for significant market changes in the near future.

USD/CAD moves in an upward direction on risk aversion sentiment. Upbeat WTI prices could limit the losses of the Canadian Dollar. Biden administration and the US military formulate plans, including the possibility of carrying out strikes into Iran.

Elevated geopolitical tensions in the Middle East dampened risk sentiment. Recent data indicated a moderate increase in US prices for December. The US Federal Reserve will most likely keep rates unchanged on Tuesday.

We closed out the previous week with another round of solid US economic data. Interestingly enough, the market hasn’t really wanted to react all that much.

The EUR/USD pair initially fell to a 6-week low on Friday after the German Feb GfK Consumer Confidence Index unexpectedly fell to an 11-month low.
